This is going to be a short article, because there will be a video that has much more information on it. However, I must warn anyone that goes to the link that I provide: THE CONTENTS OF THE VIDEO ARE R - RATED, VERY GRUESOME SCENES OF VIOLENT OPPRESSION. But, I do believe that it is a horrific problem that faces society today. Women are being circumcised (yes, they can be just as much as men), beaten, stoned to death, killed in the most gruesome ways. And, strangely enough, most are not by strangers or gang members or any such thing. It is by their own family. Brothers, fathers, cousins, husbands. I don't know why the media doesn't report on these things more often, but it is a daily fear by women in Islamic countries. Their offense: being raped, an unveiled face, an uncovered head, a slip of the tongue, anything and everything. A husband can simply divorce his wife by saying ' I divorce you' three times, and she is cut off from all forms of support. It is a huge issue. I know what you're thinking: what does this have to do with Christians and God?
One day Jesus' disciples asked Him what the greatest commandment of all was. Jesus responded with 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'He continued with 'This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.'
I believe that these acts against women are violating the second of these two commandments. Of course they are already violating countless other commandments such as: Have no other God's before Me. Finally, and I don't know why, but people in America are ignorant of a lot of these atrocities. We need to stand up and do something about it. Thank you!!
