'All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.’
-2 Timothy 3: 16 & 17 (NKJV)
In order for people to believe anything referenced in the Bible, first we must establish the Bible’s validity. Imagine you had just bought a brand new desktop computer. You follow the owner’s manual to set it up, turn it on, and the computer doesn't work. You call the troubleshooting 800 number and get put on hold for forty-five minutes. Finally, someone answers with a heavy accent. After an hour more of instruction, you find out the manual told you the wrong way to hook up the monitor. How likely are you to believe that manual when it says to run virus scans periodically? Now, imagine the same scenario. However, this time the manual is five times as thick and has an answer for every question you think of and all of them are 100% accurate! It has a technical number to call on every page. Out of curiosity, you decide to dial the number. But, before you pick up the phone, it rings. It’s the technician calling YOU to check on things.
Pretty sweet, huh? Well, this is what the Bible is like. It has answers for anything that could possibly be going on in your life. And, if you look closely, you can discern God’s eternal plan of salvation. The Bible is a collection of 66 books written by over 40 different people over a stretch of more than 1,500 years. In all that time, it never contradicts itself. The Bible contains approximately 2,500 prophecies by Old and New testament prophets. 2,000 of these prophecies have occurred, with 100% accuracy!
The odds of making enough predictions over an extended amount of time and getting some right are good. However, that 2,000 out of 2,500 predictions came true, without any margin of error, is incredible. That alone should be enough proof for any of our analytically-minded readers. The Bible tells us that a true prophet will be always correct in his prophetic abilities. I charge any of our readers to put the prophets to the test.
The last proof of the Bible’s truth is that it is still the best selling book of all time. How many books written thousands of years ago can boast that? There have been many different versions of the Bible, but all of them hold the same truths. It has been translated from Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek and nothing has been lost in the translation. Now that I have proven the Bible’s validity, how can anybody deny Jesus Christ? He fulfilled 109 distinct prophecies with His First Advent (Coming). The Bible contains three times more prophecies about His Second Coming than His First. How much more sure are we that that blessed event will occur? Be prepared and seek Him with all your heart.
