And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
- Matthew 24:31
This article is number three in our Blessed Hope series. In this segment, we will discuss the Mid-Tribulation Rapture views. Also, we will cover the doctrine held by this publication, the Pre-Tribulation Rapture.
Mid-Tribulation Rapture Theory
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever.
-Revelations 11:15
This theory is a compromise between the Pre-Trib Rapture and the Post-Trib, and, as such, it is lacking in the strength of either. Proponents of this theory believe the Church deserves to go through at least a small part of God's wrath upon humanity. They believe the Church will be Raptured half way through the tribulation, paving the way for the Antichrist.
The Pre-Tribulation Rapture
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.
-1 Corinthians 15: 50-54
There are many flaws in every theory about the Rapture. However, the Pre-Trib Rapture is the only theory held that requires Christians to live godly lives and to evangelize. What would be the point in living completely holy lives if one knew roughly when Jesus would come? In fact, you could pin point the Rapture down to the very day and gain salvation immediately before. Only the Pre-Trib views teach the imminency of Christ's return, an imminency that I can feel even as I write these words.
I believe that the very fact that this theory has been so vehemently attacked is proof of its' validity. The Bible has proven without a doubt to be the only truth in the world, yet the Holy Word of God is attacked daily. Christians have been persecuted since the beginning, yet they have the only true way to Heaven. Satan uses humans to attack that which is damaging to his cause.
There are many verses that support this theory. 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 says: For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. In Revelations, the Church is primarily mentioned in Chapters 1-3, but it is never mentioned again until the end. Why, because the Church is no longer on earth. Also, the Bible mentions the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, where the Bride of the Lord is brought to a feast prepared by the Groom, Jesus. However, only the Pre-Trib Theory allows time for this event.
I could quote Scripture after Scripture, but one of my greatest desires is for my readers to research my claims for themselves. Crack open those Bibles and research my theories. You will see what I see, a loving God, unwilling for His righteous children to go through the worst period in history. The tribulation will be a time of judgment, wrath, and trials. However, it will also be a time of great love, for God will give humanity seven more years to come to Him. Make your decision now and be Raptured with the saints and forgo what Joel the Prophet refers to as the 'great and awesome day of the Lord.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
