"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
- 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (NIV)
Many unbelievers of the traditional Rapture say that because the Bible never uses the word 'rapture' means that the Rapture is not Biblical. But, this argument seems to not hold water for the simple reason the the Bible does use the words 'caught up which translates to Greek and then into Latin as 'rapturo'.
They also argue that the trumpets that signal the Rapture and the end of the Great Tribulation are the same. Once again, this is not true as there are 62 different trumpets sounding in the Bible. Not logical that two of them, without direct proof, would be the same ones.
There are many people who are against an idea of a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. My question is: why? How hard is it to believe that Jesus would want His children to be spared the Wrath of God that will be poured out on the unbelievers. Are you scared, "men and women of God"? Are you scared because you have not been living within God's will? If you are, now is the time to change that. Now is the time to recalculate what is important in life. Is it money? Money can't get you to heaven, and you won't be able to take itwith you anyway. Is it possessions? Once again, you will leave it all behind on your way to be with the Lord.
Is it our sin that is more important to us? I admit that I live a less than pious life. But, Jesus forgives all. The only truly sinless and righteous is Jesus, and He is our mediator between God and us. He washes us clean.
So, reorder your priorities. I have chosen to keep my eyes pointed to the sky in anticipation of His Imminent Return. No matter how rough life is, it teaches us to rely on Him that made us. Throw away your sin and follow God. When you begin to think about how stupid the little things in life are, you'll realize the only goal in life is to live for Him, worship Him, attempt to bring more believers into His Kingdom, Him, Him, Him...... Jesus, Emmanuel, Prince of Peace, Alpha, Omega, Everlasting Life, The Christ. I love to say His name, in any form that it may take. And, anyway that you say it, it still means the same thing: Savior!!!
The Rapture WILL happen and it WILL be just as God has planned it all along. I can say with all of the conviction and faith God has given me that we WILL be in Heaven with Jesus while the rest of this world suffers the Wrath of the Lamb. I, for one, will gaze upon the face of Jesus and feel peace at knowing that I was faithful till the end of the ages. AMEN!!!
