‘Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, She gave birth to her children.’
-Isaiah 66:8
That phrase doesn’t sound as impressive without it coming from Charlton Heston, does it? Well, old school movies aside, Israel has come into the Holy Land again. In 1948, Israel was reborn by the United Nations. This in itself is amazing due to the fact that no one has heard of an entire nation that has been scattered far and wide for 2,500 years, and, in one day, gains back its’ ancestral homeland and becomes a nation again.
What is even more amazing about this is that it was predicted. Isaiah predicted it. Jesus said that the generation to see this come to pass would see the coming of the Son of Man. There is nothing that needs to happen before the Rapture of the Church happens. It is so exciting isn’t it, to thing that we may be the generation that will not die but ‘be changed—in a moment in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.’
With this message of joy is also a warning. Many of those who believe they are going to Heaven will not be making that glorious journey. Nothing we can do will get us into Heaven. Salvation is not earned by works. It is given freely. All that is asked is true repentance of our sins and to put our trust in He who died on Calvary’s cross for us.
Love one another, do His Will, be generous and kind to the homeless and sick and poor. Do not be quick to judge, but DO be quick to forgive. Read the word of God and the message of hope that is contained within it.
